Council approves fire vehicle purchase and insurance plan transition

NJ PALMYRA — Palmyra Borough Council approves vehicle purchase and insurance plan transition. Mayor Gina Ragomo Tait and Council President Timothy Howard led the board through votes on three bill packages totaling $4.2 million, a $70,393.63 capital purchase for a new fire department vehicle, and transition to the New Jersey Solutions Joint Health Insurance Fund, which officials said will save money for active and retired employees. The council also accepted Officer Raykel T Holloman's resignation, authorized a $5,490 environmental site assessment of the firehouse, and denied a lacrosse team's field usage request.

Council Member Richard Dreby abstained on the firehouse assessment vote.
